Introduction

An 'Assumption' is something supposed or taken for granted. In these questions, a statement is given followed by two assumptions. You need to decide which assumption is 'implicit' (hidden reasoning) in the statement.

Rules for Valid Assumptions

  1. Direct Relation: The assumption must be directly related to the statement.
    2. Implicit Nature: It should not be a restatement or a conclusion, but the basis of the statement.
    3. Positive Outlook: Usually, notices, advertisements, and warnings are issued with an assumption that people will read and follow them.

Keywords & Invalid Assumptions

Assumptions containing words like 'Only', 'Best', 'Strongest', 'All', 'Every' are often invalid because they are too restrictive. Words like 'Some', 'May', 'Possible' often make an assumption valid.
