Fundamentals of Input-Output

Machine Input-Output questions present a sequence of words and numbers that are rearranged step-by-step according to a specific hidden logical rule.
The central objective is to identify this rule by observing the transformation from the Input to the final Step.

Identifying the Logic

Always look at the Input and then immediately jump to the Final Step to see what the machine is trying to achieve. Is it trying to arrange numbers descending and words alphabetically? Next, look at Step 1 and Step 2 to see how it's doing it.

Advanced Number & Word Logic

In Mains exams, the logic isn't just ascending/descending.
Number Logic: Sum of digits, ascending order of sum of digits, prime vs. non-prime sorting, squaring the digits.
Word Logic: Vowels vs. Consonants count, alphabetical reverse order, sorting by number of letters in the word.
