Rural & Urban Development in Rajasthan

1. Rural Development Programs

• MGNREGA: 100 days central + additional 25 days by State (Total 125 days). Special preference for Sahariya, Khairua tribes and PWDs (200 days).
• RGAVP (Rajeevika): Rajasthan Grameen Aajeevika Vikas Parishad. Nodal agency for SHGs. Brand Ambassador: Ruma Devi.
• Regional Programs:
  • Dang (8 districts), Magra (5 districts), Mewat (Alwar, Bharatpur).
• Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY): Development of villages by MPs.

2. Urban Development Initiatives

• Smart Cities Mission: 4 Cities (Jaipur, Udaipur, Kota, Ajmer). Udaipur often ranks high nationally.
• AMRUT 2.0: Focus on 100% water supply to all households in urban areas.
• Indira Gandhi Urban Employment Guarantee Scheme: Provides 125 days of work in urban areas. Launched Sept 9, 2022.
• Indira Rasoi Yojana (Annapurna): Providing quality meals at ₹8 (Govt subsidy ₹17). Slogan: "No one sleeps hungry".

3. Panchayati Raj & Local Bodies

• Rajasthan was the first state to start Panchayati Raj (Nagaur, Oct 2, 1959).
• Fifth Finance Commission: Recommendation of 6.75% of state net tax revenue to local bodies.
