1. The Panch-Pirs (Five Great Peers)

Rajasthan's spiritual landscape is dominated by five folk deities revered by both Hindus and Muslims. • Pabuji: Born in Kolumand; incarnation of Lakshman. Protector of camels. His 'Phad' (scroll) is the most popular. • Ramdevji: Born in Uddu Kasmer; incarnation of Krishna. Founded Kamadiya Panth. Known for communal harmony and the 13-Tali dance. • Gogaji: Known as Jaharpeer (given by Mahmud Ghaznavi). Main center: Gogamedi (Hanumangarh). Worshipped as the Snake God. • Harbuji & Meha Ji Mangaliya: Other two Pirs. Harbuji's vehicle is a Jackal; Meha Ji's is 'Kiran Kabra' (horse).

2. Other Key Folk Deities

• Tejaji: Born in Kharnal; cow protector. Not technically in the 'Panch-Pirs' but highly revered in Nagaur. • Devnarayanji: Incarnation of Vishnu; worshipped by Gurjars. His 'Phad' is the longest.

3. Major Saints and Sects

• Sant Jambhoji: Founder of Bishnoi Sect with 29 principles. Pioneer of environmental conservation. • Sant Jasnathji: Founder of Jasnathi Sect (36 rules). Established at Katiyasar (Bikaner); known for Agni Dance. • Dadu Dayal: Called the 'Kabir of Rajasthan'. Founded Dadu Panth at Naraina (Jaipur). Disciples like Rajjab Ji (always in wedding attire). • Charandas: Founded Charandasi Sect (42 rules) in Alwar. Disciples: Sahajo Bai and Daya Bai. • Meera Bai: The 'Radha of Rajasthan'.
